ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't like horror (it scares me) so I'm voting for the urban fantasy. But that's only if votes count. After all, the best judge is to write a page from each and see which grips you more.

I think the real choice should be yours. My inclination would be the urban fantasy/Greek Gods. You could start as a YA horror, but add a positive element where the gods aid in squelching the horror aspect.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a horror fan - Steven King - Yikes!! BUT give me a Greek God or Goddess story, urban high fantasy any day. That's got my vote.

I think I would like to see an urban fantasy mixed with horror just a little bit. Kind of like The Dresden Files only with Greeks. If you know what I mean.:)

Greek Gods without too much horror!! They were bad enough without any help.. well a little horror can't hurt.. good gods go bad and oh my.. lol Congras on your book! Now I have to go find it.. Always looking for interesting books to read..

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments. I wanted to find out which story would garner the most interest from my peers, and thus my readers. Though most of you went with Greek gods, there were a few calls for mixing these chosen genres and having a horror with Greek gods. This is an interesting idea! You've given me a lot to think about :)
