New Release Contest

I'm celebrating the release of my Urban Fantasy novel, the Chameleon's Bite, with a contest!

Not only could you win a copy of my novel, you could also win a $20 Amazon voucher!!

All you have to do is help me decide what I should write next.

Should I write:

A) An urban fantasy novel involving greek gods?
B) A young adult horror?

I'll choose a winner at random over the next week. Don't foget to include your e-mail in your answer so I can send you the prizes if you win.

  1. How about a bit of both? That would be very cool! You could have "greek gods gone wrong".

Perhaps mixing might be tough. LOL

  2. Personally, I don't like horror (it scares me) so I'm voting for the urban fantasy. But that's only if votes count. After all, the best judge is to write a page from each and see which grips you more.

    Good luck!

  3. I think the real choice should be yours. My inclination would be the urban fantasy/Greek Gods. You could start as a YA horror, but add a positive element where the gods aid in squelching the horror aspect.

  4. I'm not a horror fan - Steven King - Yikes!! BUT give me a Greek God or Goddess story, urban high fantasy any day. That's got my vote.

  5. Congrats on your release!

Definitely Greek Gods! Yummy, hot, spicy, tanned, muscular, all-powerful...Should I continue?

  6. I think I would like to see an urban fantasy mixed with horror just a little bit. Kind of like The Dresden Files only with Greeks. If you know what I mean.:)

  8. I think the Greek Gods are winners, but don't forget the heroes. What about Odysseus in a speedboat outrunning the sirens, or Hector cleaning up a bar fight?

  9. Of course I vote for the YA horror...kids love that stuff and my book, Sunshine Boulevard, IS a light horror novella. Do you love to scare people?? It's fun...LOL...

  10. I always would vote for whatever the muse dictates to the writer, but if I had my druthers, the Greek Gods shall be victorious!

  11. Why not post a modern Greek god against a horror style creature? Best of both worlds

  12. Had too many Greek Gods in school, I'm all about Horror now.

  13. Hey Erica,

How have you been? Congrats on the new release :)

I would vote for Greek Gods, but I'm curious on how the horror would turn out ;)

    Greedy? Me? ;) Of course!

  15. We have a winner! Congratulations Lawna Mackie, you've won yourself a copy of my ebook and an Amazon voucher.

And thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments. I wanted to find out which story would garner the most interest from my peers, and thus my readers. Though most of you went with Greek gods, there were a few calls for mixing these chosen genres and having a horror with Greek gods. This is an interesting idea! You've given me a lot to think about :)

    Thanks!
    Erika
